Toyosato is located in the eastern part of Shiga Prefecture, which is also the town of many Omi merchants , one of the three Japanese major merchants, born in. At the center of the town, there is a major traffic route established in Edo period called Nakasendo. Along the route, many of cultural properties that can remind you history are there.

Delicious sake brewery founded in 1854
The brewery was established as an order from the Hikone Feudal Lord in 1854. The name of the famous sake, “Kinkame” is also the nickname of Hikone Castle. You can enjoy delicious sake from a recipe that has been untouched since the Edo Period. Please enjoy the brewery tour and sake tasting here.
